Final Project

When I first thought about this project i wanted to document the process of making graffiti or the journey to a graffiti spot. I went looking for spots. Most of them werent really what i was looking for. So then i looked online to see where some good spots were to go. I found the old Polaris Amphitheater. However it was closed and was chained up with no trespassing signs all over so I decided i didnt want to get arrested, since its the only class rule. Then I decided to take picture on my way home from class one day since it was a nice day outside. At first i struggled to get good pictures, they were mostly of either the ground or the sky and got no one i was aiming for. I just kept taking pictures through a few days and just tried to see what feels right for aiming the shot. I finally got it down i just barley took my phone out of my pocket and snapped the picture. i had some very interesting ones and some that were just a huge blur. I liked how I got some of the same people in my pictures. My favorites though are of how close we get to so many people everyday without really realizing it. Some of days i was taking pictures and i thought they noticed my taking pictures and got nervous. I took the pictures of the same route for a few days and only really noticed one person who was in multiple pictures on different days. This was a fun process to do and it was very satisfying to see how my pictures turned out when i got home from a day of classes.

To me these pictures pretty much sum up my days at OSU. No matter where you go you always see people whether you know them or not. People will walk past you without even giving you the time of day to say "Hi" or look at you. I guess its not just here though either, no matter where you go now people arent polite or friendly anymore. Once I took these pictures i also so how many people are just walking through campus and I really have never thought about it before. We come into contact with so many people and we have no idea. I was imaging if a few of the people i walked passed was sick and once decided to cough into the air and get someone else sick, then the person who walked through the cough most likely would catch the bug and then possibly continue the cycle and get tons of people sick. This project really showed me how large the OSU campus is to me and its filled with people, and I only took pictures on my way to class. I can only imagine how a huge city would look or even a different country like India or China would look like.

MP5 To Remove

This lamp is what I do my homework under nearly everyday. I sit at my table with my books and computer and do my days work. Im use it so much I rarely remember how much it costs, $200. To remove this lamp I tried to think of a different way to break it down and take each piece apart separately. The only problem I had doing this was with the legs. They dont come out they just retract in itself, since its a tripod design I could only do one leg with out it falling over. So once I removed the top light part I broke down the legs and then removed the tripod. After that I turned the light off and unplugged and took out the light bulb. Once I removed the light canister I tried to make it appear like it was still there by drawing around it in the carpet.

Its a bird. Its a plane. Its me.

Ever since I was a little kid I have always wanted to fly. As a kid I pretended to fly when playing around with friends or even by myself. I would swing on my stomach to feel like I was flying. But now since I'm older I still wish I could fly. I could go to places faster and save a lot more money than spending it on gas. I could go anywhere I wanted if it was just for a day or for a long time. Whenever I think of flying I think of Superman and how he looks flying through the air with his big red cape and his Superman suit. So for me I found a picture of me planking during the summer just fooling around at a sand volleyball tournament that my friends and I hold yearly. Then I isolated me and put a red cape I found from the internet to make me look like Superman. After I created myself flying I found the background image of people looking into the sky as if they saw me flying. With this project I wanted it to seem very cartoon-like because to me flying is not going to be possible the way I am doing it in the project. I'm flying with a cape on and have the super power to fly, which no human will ever have or get.

MP3 View 2

This sculpture is a representation of everything I think of myself as. I have everything from my favorite sports teams and sports to my family background with the England three lion crest and a Native American bird. It is in the shape of a crown because my family name means everything to me and I plan on carrying on the history of it. My piece is placed at the medical center because that is my aspiration to work at a hospital either as a pharmacist or a nurse.

First aid kit

To me my first aid kit is important because I am always getting injured no matter what. From playing sports to working. Its not a normal day if I don't do some sort of physical activity and have blood running down my arm or somewhere else. So this kit is very useful to me and thats why its important

Bump, set, spike

One of my favorite sports to play is volleyball. It is how I met most of my friends I have today. Senior year in high school after our graduation practice a few kids from my school went to play volleyball. I only knew a few kids who went but now they are all my good friends and we continue to play whenever we get time and where ever we can.
